Biography
Paul Thomas was born in Warwickshire, UK in June 1970. Although he started taking photographs at the age of 17 he did not undertake any formal training in the field until he commenced his degree in Editorial Photography at the University of Brighton in 1999.
In his work Paul investigates various different themes. As a photographer he is interested in how humans exist within the world they have built around them. He is particularly interested in architectural space, both interior and exterior, and how humans interact with these spaces. He has observed that human emotion can linger in a room or a building long after humans have left that space. It is this emotional weight, this resonance, that he tries to translate through his images.
Paul also gains great inspiration from his many travels around the world. He is slowly building up an extensive travel portfolio.
Since graduating in 2002 he has exhibited, published and given talks in the UK. He is intending on commencing an MA in Photography in 2009.
